From the Kitchen
April 2013
The word has gotten out with students at SFUSD’s Ida B. Wells High School that Pacific Catch is cool. The 9th Avenue location has taken on its first job shadow participant from the school’s Heat of the Kitchen program, a working simulation class where students feel what it is like to work through a professional kitchen environment, learning specific skills and developing attributes they can use in any workplace.
To take the classroom learning and be able to step into a real business in a job shadow/internship experience is a coveted opportunity few students get to have, and when Pacific Catch offered interviews for a spot and selected a student, the entire class paid attention. To find out more please about the class, please visit their website, www.heatofthekitchen.org, or contact the teacher, Alice Cravens: idabkitchen@gmail.com. Thank you, Pacific Catch, for providing these great opportunities!
