SAN MATEO, CA – March, 2014 Chef David Gingrass, whose illustrious culinary career includes founding Hawthorne Lane and Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio, and holding a senior chef position at Spago in Los Angeles, joined Pacific Catch today as its Executive Chef responsible for ongoing food and beverage development, quality assurance, and food procurement.

“David’s culinary wisdom combined with his rich history in the San Francisco high-end restaurant scene will be a valuable asset to Pacific Catch,” says CEO, Steve Stoddard. “His food sensibilities and dedication to the guest experience are completely aligned with our philosophies at Pacific Catch, and we can’t wait to see his influence on our restaurants going forward.”

Gingrass will focus his initial attention on opening the restaurant group’s newest location in Mountain View, CA. Its menu is focused on sustainable seafood, seasonal ingredients, bold spices, sauces, and techniques inspired by regions of the Pacific.

“What’s most notable about restaurants that are as successful as Pacific Catch is the demand for the highest quality, local ingredients that were once earmarked for white tablecloth establishments; they are now a central component of our more approachable, casual, fine-dining restaurants,” said Gingrass. “This is one more reason the Bay Area is, and always will be a food mecca.”

Pacific Catch’s signature items include entrée specials showcasing daily fresh fish deliveries, island tacos, Japanese rice bowls, and sushi. The menus also feature a Hawaiian poke bar with eight offerings available for guests to enjoy at the restaurant or order for take-out. The full bars offer a wide selection of handcrafted, seasonal cocktails, a curated beer selection, and Pacific region wine.

Pacific Catch was founded by restaurant partners, Aaron Noveshen and Keith Cox in April 2003 on Chestnut Street in San Francisco. Next they ventured to Corte Madera in Marin County, 9th Avenue in the Inner Sunset District of San Francisco, and Campbell in the South Bay. San Mateo was the fifth location, and a sixth restaurant is opening in Mountain View April 2014.
