Aviles “Avi” Hernandez, Sous Chef, Campbell
Campell’s sous chef Aviles Hernandez was born and raised in a small town in Oaxaca, Mexico. After finishing high school, he moved to the United States when he was 19 years old. Aviles, who also goes by Avi, has a long tenure with Pacific Catch that first began at our Chestnut Street location, where after two months working as a dishwasher, he was promoted to line cook. For four years, Avi split his time keeping the grills going at both Pacific Catch Chestnut and Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers before moving full time to our 9th Avenue location, then to the new location in Campbell. He is approaching six years with Pacific Catch and looks forward to his future with us.
Outside of the restaurant, Avi can be found enjoying a game or two of soccer or kicking back with a good television show. If
you’re hankering for a night out, he boasts that he is “the best one to go to the bars and play pool with.”
