Rob Schechtman, Sr. Operations Manager
Rob is currently the General Manager for Pacific Catch’s Pruneyard location in the South Bay city of Campbell. Rob joined the Pacific Catch team during the summer of 2006 as the GM of the Chestnut Street store. He considers himself lucky to have had the experience of running that location during the crazy times that followed the iPhone commercials launch. As Pacific Catch grew, Rob was asked to be the opening GM for the 9th Avenue SF location.
He ran that store for over 3 years before beginning work on the Campbell location. Prior to coming on board with Pacific Catch, Rob spent five years as a manager with Max’s Opera Café, of which the last two were spent running their flagship location on Van Ness Avenue. During his tenure with Max’s, Rob worked his way through various positions at a number of different locations, from the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto to Van Ness Avenue to Union Square and finally back to Van Ness.
Rob’s entire professional career has been dedicated to the customer service and hospitality industries. From his first restaurant job at the ripe age of 15 (Burger King), Rob knew that making the customer happy is what made him happy. His other restaurant management experience includes Noah’s Bagels and an independent oak-pit BBQ restaurant in the South Bay.
Rob was born and raised in the Almaden Valley area of San Jose, where his mother and older brother still live. He graduated from Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose, before continuing on to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Rob currently resides in the coastal city of Pacifica, where he purchased a house in 2009. When he’s not working, Rob can most likely be found working on fixing up his house. If not, he could be busy following one of the Bay Area sports teams he is fanatical about , most likely the Giants or Raiders. Rob’s been a lifelong traveler and adventure-seeker, still sneaking away regularly to places such as Costa Rica, Cabo San Lucas, Thailand, and Colorado for fun stuff like white-water rafting, snow skiing, ATV’s, beach going, or just plain eating!
