Shawn Brady, General Manager, 9th Avenue
Shawn has been the General Manager of Pacific Catch in Corte Madera (Marin County) since March 2006. He began with Pacific Catch as the General Manager of our flagship store on Chestnut Street in March, 2005.
Shawn started his love for restaurants growing-up in Bellingham, Washington. His family owned three restaurants in the medium-sized Puget Sound town. Prior to opening their first restaurant, his father worked in the hospitality business as Shawn learned the passion for food from his Mother, at one time a professional baker. Growing-up in a coastal town where many Alaskan fishermen live in the off-season contributed to Shawn’s appreciation and passion for quality, responsible seafood.
Prior to coming on-board with Pacific Catch, Shawn ran a fine dining restaurant and night club in Solano County. While Shawn was studying Biological Anthropogy at U.C. Davis, he began his 5-year career with Fuzio Restaurants (owned by Chevy’s Restaurants). Shawn began with Fuzio in Davis, California, and finished with Fuzio in the Washington, D.C. location. He says “of all the areas I have lived and worked, Marin County has the most outstanding combination of food-savvy and environmentally aware people anywhere, that’s motivating.”
Shawn has a love for the “deep blue,” and a passion (and craving) for its’ creatures. He has sailed from San Francisco to Mexico round-trip, and spent 2-years in the United States Coast Guard where he had the unique opportunity to sail “America’s Tall Ship,” the USCGC Eagle. Soon, he plans to live-aboard his own sailboat in the San Francisco Bay, he especially loves Marin. Shawn currently resides around the corner from the Pacific Catch in S.F.’s Marina District, where he can be seen getting take-out on his days-off from the store in Marin. He loves crazy pants and flip-flops, his favorite fish is Alaskan winter-season King Salmon, and his “teams” are the Seattle Seahawks (but does root for the 49ers) and your San Francisco Giants.
