Spencer Lutz, Executive Chef
Born in Riverside, Spencer Lutz has lived all over Southern California including Oceanside, Pasadena, and Palm Springs. Prior to pursuing his professional culinary education, he studied audio technology. In 2005, Spencer graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena and landed his first culinary job at the Ritz Carlton in Rancho Mirage, where he also met his wife Eleana, a pastry chef. Spencer has worked at several top-rated country clubs in the Palm Springs area, where he has had the opportunity to cook for many high profile guests, including President George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Kurt Russell, Condaleeza Rice and Bill Gates.
In February 2012, his love for the city and a desire to return to the excitement of a fact-paced restaurant world brought Spencer to San Francisco, where he joined the 9th Avenue Pacific Catch team as the sous chef. In 2013, Spencer was promoted to the position of Executive Chef for all Pacific Catch locations.
In addition to cooking, Spencer loves music, going to concerts, walking and hiking outdoors in the mountains or at the beach, and watching movies. He and his wife have two Chihuahuas named Danzig and Meshuggah.
